Kindergarten Meet & Greet
On Thursday, June 4th from 12-12:45 your student will have the opportunity to meet the teacher and Cloverdale staff in the lower parking lot. This will be a distance meeting where you will drive through (parade style) in your car (with your future KG kiddo), greet & speak to our Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Gilbert and other staff & receive a Welcome Packet of supplies and projects for them to take home. Grab n Go Sack Lunch is also being served at this time, so please feel free to grab one of those as well while you are here! With that being said, if you have not done so already, please complete the registration process asap, so each packet can be prepared for your child.

2020-2021 Pre-Registration
In lieu of our annual in-person Kindergarten Orientation, Cloverdale Elementary will be pre-registering 2020-2021 kindergarten students (children who are 5 years old as of September 1, 2020) online. Please click on the link: Kindergarten Pre-registration form and complete the form to start the first step of the registration process. If you have a question or need assistance, please email Ms. Shelly or call the school office at (503) 749-8050. This helps us get a count for the fall, so we can get the resources we need for our kindergarten classroom. Please note, this is just the first step. Kindergarten students will still need to register for school in the fall.

Required Documents
Before a student can begin school, school staff must verify:

  • A student's proof of age from a birth certificate (preferred), hospital records, signed affidavit by the parent/guardian, or other approved & appropriate documentation.
  • That a student has had at least one dose of each required vaccination. (See the 2020-2021 Oregon Required Immunizations to see what your child may need). Or, that the student is exempt from required vaccines as per a medical or nonmedical vaccine exemption document.

Soft Start for Kindergarten Students
For the 2020-2021 school year, the first day of school for all 1st - 5th-grade students will be Monday, August 31. However, Kindergarten students will only attend one day this first week for a 45-minute evaluation. (You will sign your child up for their time slot during fall registration in mid-August). Each kindergartener will come in for 45-minutes, either September 1, 2, or 3. While at school on one of these days, our staff will be going over expectations and routines. Teachers will also be assessing students' skills and knowledge in literacy & math, as well as motor and expressive skills.
