Dear Cloverdale Families,

It is with immense gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Cloverdale Elementary School. My name is Julia Bradley, and I am truly honored to work alongside the wonderful students, dedicated educators, and vital parents that make up the Cloverdale community.

I am particularly excited about the upcoming school year and the boundless possibilities it holds for our school community. Together, we will build upon the traditions and successes that Cloverdale Elementary is known for, while also embracing innovative practices that will inspire our students to reach their full potential. My commitment to maintaining open lines of communication and fostering a collaborative spirit will be central to our collective success. I am committed to providing you with timely updates and important information throughout the school year. Starting soon, you can expect to receive our weekly newsletters every Tuesday morning at 8:00am. Your attention to these newsletters is greatly appreciated, as they will play a pivotal role in maintaining the success of our school year.

Thank you for welcoming me into the Cloverdale Elementary family. I look forward to meeting each of you and working collaboratively to make this academic year a truly memorable and successful one.

First Day of School: For Grades 1-5, the first day of school is September 5th, 2023. KG students will have assessments from September 5th to 7th, with assigned time slots. We will send a separate email to KG families with a reminder of your chosen assessment time. KG students' first full day of school will be on September 11th, 2023.

School Hours - Drop Off and Pick Up: School hours are from 7:50 AM to 2:20 PM. You can drop off your child at the lower gate starting at 7:30 AM. Do not drop them off at the upper parking lot. Students arriving late must check in at the office for a tardy slip before heading to class. For pick-up, all students must be collected by 2:30 PM. If you are running late, please inform us through a call or a Parent Square message, and your child will be waiting in the office. On late start days, school begins at 9:50am, and buses pick up 2 hours later than usual.

Car Pick-Up Line Guidelines: Please show consideration for others in the car line when dropping off children.  If you need to exit your vehicle to open a door for a child, kindly move into a designated parking spot. This will help maintain a smooth flow of traffic for everyone involved. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Student Supplies: Cloverdale has procured supplies for your child at a cost of $45.00. Please reimburse us by the end of the first week of school. You can pay in cash, check (payable to Cascade SD 5), or through the Mealtime app once registration is complete. Students are only required to provide a backpack and wired, over-the-head headphones. If you would like to donate and help support a family (or are a family in need) with school supplies, please let Shelly Baughman in the main office know as soon as possible.

Breakfast and Lunch:  Breakfast and lunches at Cloverdale are, once again, FREE for the 23/24 school year.

Medication: All medication needs to be brought directly to the main office in the original container.  This includes cough drops, etc.

Student Absence: If your child will be absent from school, contact the office at 503.749.8050 ext 5801 or send an email to [email protected] by 8:00 am on the day of the absence.  Please note that unreported absences will trigger an automated call.  Doctor's notes are required for 3 or more consecutive absences.

Sincerely,

Julia Bradley, Principal
