Welcome to Kindergarten at Cloverdale Elementary

Kindergarten students attend school all day, Monday through Friday.
Regular Student Hours: 7:50 am - 2:15 pm
Late Start Student Hours: 9:50 am - 2:15 pm

Hey Cloverdale families,

We are starting to think about who our freshest members will be for the 25/26 school year!!  I am creating a list and we need to know who has a sibling or a neighbor/friend that has a new Cloverdale Kindergartener for us?  Your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2025 and you must be a "Cloverdale boundary" resident for instant acceptance; proof of residency will be required at a later date.

If someone is wishing to transfer in, they must contact the District Office @ 503-749-8010 and speak to Lisa Sherman or Jennifer Thatcher for transfer process procedures, requirements & information on how the approval process works.

If you live in boundary, please email Mrs. Shelly. at:  [email protected] with the following info:

Student Name ( First, Middle, Last)
Birthday
Gender
Home address
Phone Number

Upon receipt, I will add you to my "reminder email" invitation list for the Kindergarten Meet & Greet to be held Thursday, May 22, 2025 @ 2:30-3:30pm here in the gym.  At the Meet & Greet we will ask that you bring a birth certificate, shot information and a proof of residency document (mortgage/power/utility bill).

Transfer families are still welcome to attend the meet & greet to gather info, but any possible transfer approvals will come at a later date from the District Office.

Bring on those Kindergartners!!    :-)

Registration for 2025-26

Parents will need to bring a birth certificate, immunization information and proof of residency for Cloverdale (utility bill with parent name on it, etc.)

Questions? Email Mrs. Shelly.

Required Documents

Before a student can begin school, school staff must verify:

  • A student's proof of age from a birth certificate (preferred), hospital records, signed affidavit by the parent/guardian, or other approved & appropriate documentation.
  • That a student has had at least one dose of each required vaccination. (See the 2024-2025 Oregon Required Immunizations to see what your child may need). Or, that the student is exempt from required vaccines as per a medical or nonmedical vaccine exemption document.
  • Proof of residency document

Soft Start for Kindergarten Students

For the 2025-2026 school year, the first day of school for all 1st - 5th-grade students is different from Kindergarten. Kindergarten students will only attend one day this first week for a 45-minute evaluation. (You will sign your child up for their time slot during May pre-registration.)   While at school on one of these days, our staff will be going over expectations and routines. Teachers will also be assessing students' skills and knowledge in literacy & math, as well as motor and expressive skills.
