Cloverdale Connection

"It's Not Luck, It's Hard Work!"

April 20, 2026

Principal's Message

Cloverdale Families,

The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. To ensure everyone knows what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency, we will be conducting a Lockdown Drill on Tuesday, April 21st. This is just a drill and there is no reason for alarm.

A lockdown is a safety protocol used when there is a potential threat inside the school. During the drill, you will hear an announcement that says, "Locks, Lights, out of Sight." This is the signal for students and staff to follow specific procedures:

  • Locking classroom doors to secure the building.
  • Turning off the lights to make rooms appear unoccupied.
  • Moving everyone out of sight of windows and doors.
  • Maintaining silence.

These drills help our students and staff practice what to do if an emergency ever happens. I will inform everyone when we begin and complete the drill so you are informed. For more information on the Standard Response Protocol, you can watch this video or visit the I Love U Guys Foundation website.

Thank you for your cooperation and for being our partners in keeping Cloverdale Elementary a safe place to learn. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at jbradley@cascade.k12.or.us.

With appreciation,
Julia Bradley, Principal

State Testing for Grades 3 - 5

As we begin state testing, here are a few tips to help your child do their best:

  • Make sure your child gets to bed early and gets plenty of rest.
  • Provide a healthy, nutritious, high protein breakfast on the days of testing
  • Try to not plan any Dr. or Dentist appointments during the above listed times. (All times are in the morning, afternoon is fine for appointments.)
  • Make positive statements to your child on the day of testing. For example: Try your hardest, I know you will do your best, etc.
