Boys Wrestling Excels at State

Cascade High School Boys Wrestling delivered a historic performance at the 2026 OSAA State Championships, crowning three individual state champions and securing a 4th place team finish — one of the strongest showings in program history.

Cascade's three state champions were the most in the 4A division this year, and tied the school record for most individual state champions in a season. You can see more pictures on our Facebook page.

Leading the charge were:

Matthew Hinkle (215 lbs) — Hinkle captured his second career state championship, pinning every opponent at the state tournament — all within two minutes.

Hans Kamm (165 lbs) — As a junior, Kamm earned his second state championship.

Jack Mulvahill (106lbs) — Mulvahill won in an upset over the No. 1 seed from Sweet Home in the finals. Just one week earlier at Districts, Mulvahill had lost to the same opponent 8–1.

Beyond the champions, Cascade’s depth powered the team to a 4th place finish. Memorable performances and matches included:

Jonas Camillo (138lbs), Earned a 3rd place finish.

Griffin Copple (175 lbs), one of four wrestlers at Cascade to reach the semifinals.

Riley Coleman (175), who narrowly missed the podium in one of the most intense overtime battles of the tournament.

Landon Morris (106lbs), advanced to the quarterfinals.

In total, 14 Cascade wrestlers qualified for the State Championships, demonstrating the strength and development happening throughout the entire lineup.

Congrats to our amazing athletes!

Culinary Arts Students Compete

On Monday, five of Cascade High School's Culinary Arts students competed in Salem at the Prostart Culinary Competition. Students created the entire meal plan, wrote out the recipes and costs and how it would be priced at a restaurant, and had one hour to cook it all for the judges.

Last year was the first time Cascade entered this competition, and new teacher Leah Ross enjoyed supporting the students again this year.
They chose a brunch menu with poached eggs, french toast, and a fruit tower for dessert, and got to receive feedback from professional cooks. This experience is unique and so helpful for their future!

Cascadians Choir Visits Seattle

This past weekend Cascadians choir traveled to University of Washington in Seattle to work with their renowned choral department. The singers were inspired by the rehearsal they observed and the clinic that followed with their choral staff.

While great things happen in our own classroom, getting out into the world holds even more learning opportunities and chances to grow. Cascadians also attended a concert at the world famous Jazz Alley, visited the MoPop and explored Pikes place Market!

Did you know Cascade Schools have placed a construction bond on the May 19 ballot?

If passed, the bond would repair and replace building components that have reached end of life, improve safety and accessibility, renovate and modernize the 3-5 building at Aumsville elementary, and bring new cafeterias/kitchens at Cloverdale and Turner Elementaries. Tax rates are estimated to continue at $1.09 per $1000 of Assessed Value.
